Mandalas are a powerful artistic form used in meditation and healing practices. Using a process of hand-stitching with thread and fabric, we are going to learn ways to use this process not only to slow down, but also to deeply connect with our work. Watercolor: Nature As Inspiration with Molly

Nature not only provides amazing inspiration for visual art, but as we dive deeper into the stories of the objects we’re drawing, sometimes we find incredible facts to inspire our lives as well. We’ll begin by exploring some fascinating facts about barnacles, bivalves and geodes.
Then we’re going to spend time drawing variations of each. These drawings will be slow, mindful and relaxing and are not meant to be perfect. We’ll also work with adding color to our drawings using watercolors, markers and other water-soluble supplies. Finally, we’ll talk about how to incorporate a mindful drawing practice into your everyday life for moments of calm and quiet and also how to use the stories about these amazing creatures to comfort, empower and inspire ourselves.
